In 2015, the Morupule Cycling Club approached TKM Engineering with an idea to assist a less privileged family residing at Matlhakola village. The family which consisted of four siblings who lost their parents were identified by the Village Development Committee. TKM Engineering has been working at Morupule Coal Mine since 2010 and the request for assistance came as an opportunity for TKM Engineering to give back to a community near our working area. TKM Engineering agreed to partner with Morupule Cycling Club by offering to provide labour and tools to build the house free of charge. The works included the following;
During the construction of the house TKM Engineering employed 6 young men from Matlhakola village to work on the project which lasted 2 months. Four of these young men have found permanent employment with the company and were posted to other projects.
